What is the difference between a medical spa and a traditional day spa?

Though we pride ourselves on offering a relaxing, therapeutic atmosphere, medical aesthetic treatments go beyond the fruit peels, mud baths, and therapeutic massages that you can find at traditional day spas. Treatments at Nouriche are medically supervised by Dr. Cobb are more intense and produce more noticeable, long-lasting results.

Aesthetic procedures at Nouriche include advanced laser treatments, injectables such as Botox, Juvederm, Sculptra and Voluma, medical grade facials, laser hair restoration and much more.  The results of the cosmetic treatments we offer can last anywhere from six months to three years, depending on the type of treatment you get.

What makes Nouriche different?

In addition to our wide variety of cutting edge aesthetic treatments,  we believe optimum health that takes into account an individual’s genetic risk, body type, lifestyle and desires.  Dr. Cobb is a student of Functional Medicine.  Her approach to wellness and aesthetic issues is to find the root causes of diseases,  many of which manifest in our skin.

Nouriche is the only integrated lifestyle medicine clinic in Acadiana that excels at promoting a proactive approach to long term health and wellness. What is functional medicine?

Functional Medicine addresses the underlying causes of disease, using a systems-oriented approach and engaging both patient and practitioner in a therapeutic partnership. It is an evolution in the practice of medicine that better addresses the healthcare needs of the 21st century. By shifting the traditional disease-centered focus of medical practice to a more patient-centered approach, Functional Medicine addresses the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms. Functional Medicine practitioners spend time with their patients, listening to their histories and looking at the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and complex, chronic disease. In this way, Functional Medicine supports the unique expression of health and vitality for each individual.
