Juvederm Voluma XC
One of the main signs of facial aging is loss of volume in the midface. It can lead to significant changes in the appearance of the face in many areas- not just the cheeks. Before Voluma was introduced in 2013 by Allergan (the company that also makes Botox and Latisse,) loss of volume in the face was typically addressed by surgery to tighten the skin. Mid face fillers can now be used to provide a similar lift creating a natural, youthful face with no surgery or downtime. Call 456-7300 to schedule a Voluma consultation with Dr. Cobb or one of our PAs.
We often use Voluma in conjunction with other injectables like Sculptra, Juvederm & Botox. Click to learn more about all the fillers available at Nouriche.
FAQ ABOUT JUVEDERM VOLUMA XC:
HOW LONG DO THE EFFECTS OF VOLUMA LAST?
Voluma lasts up to 2 years and the results of the treatment are visible immediately. Many factors influence how long the treatment will last for each patient including how fast the patient’s tissue breaks down the filler, what area of the face is injected and the specific technique used.
WHAT EXACTLY IS JUVEDERM VOLUMA XC?
Voluma is a filler made up from hyaluronic acid (a naturally occurring substance that binds water to our cells.) It’s an excellent option for restoring volume lost in the natural aging process in the cheeks and midface.
HOW DO I KNOW IF VOLUMA IS RIGHT FOR ME?
Prior to any injectable treatment at Nouriche, Dr. Cobb or one of our PAs will perform a thorough consultation to explain your options. We have ample experience with many different types of fillers. Many patients who were previously using fillers have found that by injecting the mid face with Voluma, their concerns about other areas of the face are treated. Call 337-456-7300 to schedule your injectable consultation.
DOES THE TREATMENT HAVE DOWNTIME?
In medical aesthetics, downtime simply refers to how long before a patient will be comfortable going about their daily activities in public. With Voluma, there is no downtime. Occasionally patients will experience minor swelling and bruising but they are usually mild and don’t last very long. Patients prone to bruising can take Arnica supplement (available for purchase at Nouriche) and avoid certain medications like aspirin and fish oil to minimize any potential bruising.
CAN VOLUMA BE REVERSED?
On the rare occasion that a patient is unhappy with the effects of Voluma, it (as with all hyaluronic acid fillers) can be dissolved very easily with an enzyme. Fortunately, experienced injectors like the ones we have at Nouriche rarely need to remove any fillers that they have injected.
WHAT TRAINING IS REQUIRED TO PERFORM VOLUMA TREATMENTS?
Extensive experience in injectables is required for best results. Voluma can only be injected by A doctor, Physician Assistant or a Nurse Practitioner. Advanced understanding of the anatomy of the midface is a very important consideration when selecting who will perform your injectable procedure.
