Botox Cosmetic Treatments

100 Units of Botox CosmeticThe most popular cosmetic treatment in the United States is Botox Cosmetic with millions of people treated each year.  At Nouriche, all of our Botox injections and dermal fillers are performed by Dr. Cobb and our PAs, Jennifer and Katie.  All three are have received advanced Botox training and we perform more treatments each year than 95% of Botox providers in the country.

How does Botox work? It works by blocking habitual muscle contractions.

Years of squinting and frowning can cause your skin to crease and furrow.  Common wrinkles of the face and neck are the result of these habitual contractions. The procedure is relatively simple and involves injection of Botox into the facial muscles.

The transformation from Botox treatments is dramatic- not only will your skin be wrinkle free, but but it will also appear smooth and younger.  People will notice that you look great but will likely not be able to tell that you’ve had cosmetic treatments.

How much does Botox cost?
The cost of Botox injections depends on the number of injections and the size of the area treated. While some offices may charge “per area” being treated,  you’ll most often hear people talk about the treatment in terms of units.  How many units depends on the severity of the lines, the age and muscle strength of the patient.

In the glabella, (the area between the eyes where we usually see the 11’s form) it typically takes 16-30 units.  To treat crows feet, patients typically need 18-24 units and lines across the forehead 8-16 units.  When you come in for a consult with Dr. Cobb or one of our Physician Assistants, they’ll be able to give you a better assessment of how many units will be right for you.

Is Botox safe?
Yes!  Botox has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of lines between the eyebrows and crows feet around the eyes.  It’s been used for 17 years in the United States and Canada.  It’s safety record is actually better than many over the counter pain medicines you can find in the drugstore.

How long before I will notice the results?
Within 3-5 days after being treated, you should notice a difference but it could take as long as two weeks to notice the full result.

Will Botox make my face look frozen and unable to move?
No!  If Botox is done well,  your friends won’t even be able to tell you’ve had it.  This is why Dr. Cobb and her staff are constantly training on the latest techniques.  When you decide to get Botox treatments, keep in mind that you are paying for the experience and expertise of your injector.
